National Membership

To become a member of the national organization...

  1. Click here: SWE Collegiate Membership

  2. Select 'Join SWE' under Collegiate Membership Types

  3. Create a login

  4. Choose the type of membership you want (See below)

  5. Pay and remember to renew every year

 

 

Membership Types

  1. Collegiate: SWE Membership is available for $20 to college students majoring in engineering. No application fee is required. To be eligible, you must be a college student and not employed full time in engineering. 

  2. Joint: Take advantage of a reduced joint membership rate when you join both SWE and one of these three professional organizations: The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). (Only available April 15 - December 31) 

  3. Collegiate to Career (C2C): For a one-time $50 payment, collegiate members can secure a SWE membership for their collegiate years through the first year they qualify for professional grade membership. C2C is beneficial to students with two or more years of schooling left. Take advantage of this program to maximize your savings on membership dues. The program cannot be combined with any joint membership or other membership discount.

Chapter Membership

There are no dues to be a member of the LSU Chapter. Instead, we utilize a point system in order for members to gain active membership status by the semester. Currently, 15 points are required to earn active membership status for the Fall 2023 semester.
